A Message from the Mayor

Dear Resident:

Now that Spring is here we can hopefully enjoy warmer and sunnier days and put a very cold and difficult winter behind us.

As you know we have had shuttle service from the Village Hall to the Manhasset Train Station running for the past several months. At this time we will be discontinuing the 9:30 A.M. shuttle due to very low usage. We will continue the shuttle at the other scheduled times, from Village Hall in the morning leaving every half hour from 6:30 to 9:00 and returning from the Manhasset Train Station from 5:00 to 8:00 in the evening. We hope more residents will avail themselves of this wonderful program. Parking at Village Hall is free of charge and there is no charge for the shuttle and those that use the service find it most convenient.

I have been in constant communication with Nassau County regarding all of the trees which have been cut down on Shelter Rock Road and Searingtown Road and the County has informed that the trees will be replaced. However with all of the extenuating circumstances as a result of Super Storm Sandy, they are awaiting FEMA funds to finance the tree replacements.

There are two Trustee positions open this year and the election will be held at Village Hall on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. The polls will be open from Noon to 9 P.M.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Deputy Mayor Dennis Sgambati, Trustee Phyllis Lentini, Trustee Elliot Arnold and Trustee Gail Cohen for their continued support and diligent service to the Village of North Hills.
